Hello, I would like to know if there will be a possibility for the next update of Vegas Pro 14, to export the videos in the ProRes section in 8K? Why not also for section H265. Will this be possible? Thanks for your reply **** and other members
I would hope for a 16Kx16K workspace upgrade with continued/improved support of the ACES colorspace. If all the current pro cameras are 8K, and 4K panel pricing dropping like rocks, it is only a matter of 1-2 years that 8K HDR panels will be the standard. To keep a "Pro" label on the product, it will have to change with the times.
All this depends also on what is considered "Pro," with less people going to the Cinema and more watching on smaller screens with data caps. I know my Comcast residential line caps at 1TB/mo. Even two 8K sets running h.265-10bit would burn through that 1TB pretty quickly, if comcast can provide the bandwidth. The best Christie Cinema Projector at the moment is only 4096x2160, so 8K cameras are good for future proofing your negative, and re-framing for 4K. Vegas already scales 6K footage to the 4K project settings.
