New user has three basic questions

Hi,
I´m a new user from this software (using with Canopus ADVC-1394 Card) and now I have some (maybe) easy questions:
1.) If I capture, I see the movie on the DV-Camera. But when I cut movies, I never see the movie on the DV-Camera (DV-In free). Is it not possible to see the cutted video on the camera (and from there to the TV)?
2.) If I put one scene simply on the timeline and try to create an Avi-File, the whole scene will be rendered. Is it normal?
3.) How can I transfer a (cutted) movie from the timeline to the connected camera on the quickest and best way. I found nothing on the manual about this.

Thanks for help,
Martin

Turn on "Preview in External Monitor". It's the button just above the video display that looks like kind of like a TV. This will allow you to view it on the camera viewscreen and an external monitor. (See page 230 in the manual for information on previewing on the external monitor)

2.) If I put one scene simply on the timeline and try to create an Avi-File, the whole scene will be rendered. Is it normal?

Make sure you haven't applied some effect to the entire timeline that makes rerendering everything necessary. One of the most common problems is moving the "level" slider slightly off 100% (the slider on the left in the track header box). So, NO this is NOT normal. (See page 96 in the manual for a discussion of the track header options - specifically the Composite Level Slider)

3.) How can I transfer a (cutted) movie from the timeline to the connected camera on the quickest and best way. I found nothing on the manual about this.

Use "Print Video to DV Tape" in the tools menu. (This is discussed on page 303 of the manual)

Thanks for quick response.
I forgett to told, that I have "only" the "Vegas Video 3.0 LE" -Version.
It looks, that point one and three are not supported on this version. Correkt?

According to the comparison chart:

1.) External Monitor Support - not available in VV3LE

2.) Not normal.

3.) Print Video to DV Tape is available in VV3LE.

Worst case scenario for #3: Render to an NTSC-DV AVI file. Load this file in the capture tool to print back to tape. The capture program will also print to tape so this is a viable alternative.

Hi,
thanks again for your info,
point 3.) Is not available in VV LE3.0:
Tool => Print Video to DV-Tape => "This feature is not avail. in VV LE"

Sh....
I think, this is not acceptably. What do you think, is it possible to work so for a long time ?

Point 2.) I do nothing with the clip!
Just put a clip from media pool into empty timeline, "File" => "Render as: Video for Windows" => "Save" ====> Render the whole clip !?
Or is this so anyway?
