I installed Vegas on a new computer a couple of weeks ago and now notice that when it renders stills it is adding blocks on the edges. For examples see
www.kaybracon.com/pics/BadPic.png
and
www.kaybracon.com/pics/BadPic2.png
The first pic is just a Generated Media, and you can see the extra blocks at the bottom. The 2nd is a PNG on the timeline; the dark cutouts at the top of the blue are not in the original graphic.
When the graphics are scanned horizontally with Pan/Crop or Track Motion, the extra blocks stay in a fix horizontal location on the screen, i.e. they don't move with the graphic. However, as the graphic moves vertically, the blocks change size vertically, coming and going.
I've verified that this doesn't happen on my old computer. I've also verified as well as I can that the project settings are the same on both computers. Interlace is set to LowerField first.
This only shows up when a selection is prerendered or rendered - before the render these blocks don't happen, even when the preview is set to Best. During the render, while the preview is being updated they don't show up. I'm using Vegas 5.0b.
The problem also shows up on external firewire preview and on Print To Tape. I'm rendering as NTSC DV.
This can't be a hardware problem, can it? What can I check to fix this?
