New Version of Lagarith codec

There is a new version of the Lagarith codec, it has a fix specifiic to Vegas and a new feature that may be useful for Vegas as it deals with RGB video.

"Version 1.3.20 introduced a new option to prevent upsampling when decoding. Checking this option and having the mode set to RGB or RGBA will prevent Lagarith from performing any colorspace conversions when encoding or decoding video.

Lagarith is a completly lossless codec and available in both 32bit and 64bit versions. It works great.

Thanks for posting this, John.
Have been playing around with Lagarith, a bit heavier on the system than CF, but an interesting alternative.

"a bit heavier on the system than CF"

Yeah, it's no speed demon and it's not going to playback HD in real-time unless you have some horsepower, but when you want to move video in between programs with no loss whatsoever, Lagarith is a great choice. It's not just "visually lossless" it IS lossless.

Thanks for the heads up...

I find that this version works fine in 8.0c. But I cannot render in 9.0 ("Error in creating output file - file name invalid"). V9.0 reads a file rendered with 8.0c OK. Any ideas? Others have the same problem?

John,

Last time I tried the Lagarith codec to make an intermediate file I chose an "uncompressed avi" render and the Lagarith codec with the multicore option checked and it said 52 hours for rendering a 1 hour and 12 minute video. So I stopped the render.

Are you using Lagarith with uncompressed or elsewhere for intermediate files?
