1/- 4 Vid Events 4 Tracks

2/- Track Motion each to the size you want

OR

3/- Pan/Crop each one to size.

However . . what is the problem you are getting?

However, as you are asking about plugins, I use Tsunami. It comes with loads of tools one of which is Video Wall. It'll do your job in the time it takes to click the mouse button . . http://thetroxels.com/tsunami/

GREAT PACKAGE! - I can say this 'cos I use it!

Hi,

Thanks for the advise. The problem that I have is when I used pan and crop, I cannot get the entire picture. What will I do?

Oh - where do you see this, " I cannot get the entire picture." on Preview or on your external monitor?

Have you got your video clips on separate tracks?
gordyboy wrote on 1/5/2005, 3:09 AM
As mentioned above, you first need to make the picture smaller - this is done with the 'track motion' settings and not pan/crop. Not very intuitive, I know.

This can be done very easily with Track Motion by making the frames smaller and positioning them in the corners. This can also be done very easily with Pan/Crop by making the frames larger and positioning the "F" thingies in the corners.
Grazie wrote on 1/5/2005, 3:38 AM
Well, gordyboy, that isn't correct.

You can use P/C to reduce the size of a video Event. You do this by INcreasing the size of the "F"rame .. this will then have the effect of reducing the Event. But to "see" what is actually happening you need to have the Events on their own separate Track. Repeat, you can use P/C to reduce the size of a Video Event but they need to be on their own Track to be seen. The problem happens when a person - and when I started too I did the same - that thinking that being able to P/C stuff on the same track why couldn't I actually "see" it? Well, although I'm appearing to to be able to "reduce" the size of the Event, all I'm actually doing is to ENlarging the Frame enevelope that contains the Event. This being the case any event that is on the same track and "behind" this ENlarged Frame will be obscured by the self same Frame.

This was the "clue" from our chum here saying he couldn't "see" the other clip .. That's why I took time to establish the facts of what was actually occuring - yeah?

NOW. . .there is a case in choosing P/C over Track Motion. I've found out recently that P/C has better quality thatn TM . . I think I got this right . .

Best regards,

Grazie

Kelly, I was just leading the chap through it .. G

Of course the other advantage to P/C over TM is that you can control the P/C stuff to that Event. TM does it to the whole track. BUT, then, I would also argue that becasue you can have unlimited Track in Vegas, one would just need to use . .er .. another Track. But then the Problem with that is that having a selection of Markers laid down and then you try and move some markers independantly of others then the pickle really starts to thicken up. BUT then having MArkers is good for DVDA . .. but 'ell what do I know . .

Actually yes.

"Yes" to what part?
gordyboy wrote on 1/5/2005, 4:06 AM
Thanks Grazie

Good point on the difference between effecting separate tracks. We're all learning something - that's the main thing!

gordyboy - Is that as in Newcastle? . . .

Yeah, P/C is neat for a lot of stuff. TM with 3-D surface is too!

No Grazie - you're thinking of a Geordie Boy...

Gordy is just a shortened version of Gordon, my name and gordyboy is/was my alias for my musical activities on the mash-up scene.
