Newbie File Import

Sorry if this has been discussed before but looked in the forum and haven't seen an answer.
I am new to DVD Architect and I currently I am using Premiere Elements 3.0 for my authoring software. (Saving now for Vegas so bear with me).
What is the best way for me export from Primiere Elements into DVD Architect. I am currently using .avi but was wondering if I should be using another method when I export from PE3.
Hope that made sense.

AVI's are just a container - if it's DV in the AVI file, then that's a fine format. The drawback is that DVDA must then encode to MPEG-2 - so if you make a change to your DVD project after the initial prepare, DVDA may need to re-encode (depending).

I usually feed DVDA MPEG-2 using one of the DVDA templates in Vegas.

Thanks Scott. Am looking forward to getting Vegas at some point but in the mean time will see what I can do with PE3.
