I have a video where I loaded in the Track FX for brightness and contrast and I can see the split window and I'm happy with the settings. I saved the settings and see them in my Media FX area.....how the hell do I apply it to the whole video??? I dragged and dropped it but I didn't see anything happen to the video and my split screen is still up?

If you have more than the one track,You can apply it in the video output,,which is on the video preview screen. Or put it on each track, or each event or.........

In my preview I can see a split screen of my brightness and contrast vs. the original color of the image......

How do you apply it? I have a video file with audio and I just want to make it darker with the vrightness contrast FX.....how do I apply it to the whole video?

OK... step by step.

Look at your preview monitor window.

The third icon over from the left - you see it looks just like an FX button?

Click it.

You can then apply your brightness FX here.

It may not seem all that obvious... but by applying FX's to the preview monitor FX setting you are applying this to the entire project.

To be honest it is not all that normal to do it this way... as ordinariliy you would only need to apply such FX's to specific clips that for some reason need to be adjusted slightly.

>how do I apply it to the whole video?<

My collegues are interpreting your question as "how do I apply the effect throught the entire project", but I think you are actually trying to ask "how do I apply the effect to the entire image, not just the part that I see it applied to in the split screen".

The answer, if I have the coorect interpretation, is that it IS already applied. Just turn off the split screen on the preview(4th button from the left) to see this. Also, the Print to tape output is unaffected by the preview settings.

Thanks sorry for not explaining it that well.....Is there a way to see in Vegas which effects or how many effecs are applied to the project? In case I want to remove them?

Klick on the FX button (it turns green if there are FX applied either in the preview window on for each track) that will open a FX dialog window and show which are applied.
