Newbie Q

Recently bought Vegas 9 suite ... using it for first time.
Couple of Q's

1. Can I select a section of frames and copy .. help seems to say yes, but when I follow the steps it copies whole video.
Currently work around by putting in 2 splits and then copy .. but is there neater way.

2. Can I colour correct sections ? or do I need to use something like virtual dub.

3. Vegas seems comprehensive .. are there any good guides, learning video or similar that you could point me to ... learning curve is quite steep

1. Select the track with the frames you want to copy, drag a region over them in the track above, hit ctrl + c, put time indicator where you want to insert them, hit ctrl + v.
2. VMS has many color corrections available. You can apply them at an event level, track level, or even output level. Just click on the little green FX button to open the menu.
3. Do a search on this board for 'tutorials' and you will find plenty of helpful links and people.

Thnx ...

on #1 ... I was trying to selct 'on track' instead of track above - easy once you know

on #2 ... I thought this was just for adding blur etc. .... now I understand.

I really do need to find some tutorials ... if anybody out there has any links please post them.

There are a lot of tuts on you tube just Google Vegas tutorials , some are OK some just waffle and take forever to get to the point so what you will learn from the latter is patience which will come in handy when editing

The Sony tutorials are completely worthless. I can't see what they are doing in the little video and if I just try to follow along with what they are saying it doesn't match what happens on my screen. I tried to follow the one for Trimming Events and can't see anything on the screen, it's all white with some scratches on it, but the audio says to play some of the video then put the mouse on the left of the video and it should change to a rectangle with a double pointing arrow but mine doesn't do that.
Why don't they have tutorials that are useful or Help with commands that work?
