hey everyone! so i need help in saving my edited files. actually the problem is, i have multiple, small edited files, but i need to combine them all into one larger file, which will be the movie. i've researched a bit and i think the problem lies in what format i saved the smaller edited files in. i didn't check the box at the bottom (sorry forget what it says). if anyone can help me, i'd highly appreciate it! thank you in advance!

I think I know what you're asking...

The easiest solution is to simply produce each file as a DV-quality AVI and save them some place where you can easily retrieve them.

Once they're all the same format -- a series of AVIs -- you can drag each onto the timeline in the order you want them to appear and then output the final assembly to tape.

Hope that helps!

.... or render the assembled clips as a new AVI!

okay i get that part of the solution! (thanks). but when i tried that, i realized that my files are all in *.vf format. this is probably the most basic question, but how do i change the format to a *.avi?

The .vf file is your project file; the collected editing work you've done on the timeline. Open up each .vf file one at a time in VideoFactory, then MakeMovie to a file on your disk using the DV .avi template. This will convert your edited video into a .avi file.

Once this is done, drag each of these .avi files onto a new blank timeline, one after the other, and do a final MakeMovie to produce the combined output.
