newbie question

Hey Guys....

After I add a vid to my project everything works fine. Here's my question; After editing the text of the vid on the main menu, how do I add a button so that the user knows where to select the vid?

I know how to transform the highlight dimensions / colors etc....but when I add a button they appear to be 2 seperate functions. I'm confused on what DVD Architect wants or expects. I've searched for tutorials that would go into this but so far nada.

Sorry my question is so convoluted...

After dragging a video clip to a menu, a button appears, usually defaulting to a Thumbnail Graphic and Text.

The way this looks, including size, position, style, type of highlight etc. can be changed, and you can also have the button as Graphic or Text only. Whichever you choose, clicking this button starts the video playing, and you can check this with Preview.

Hope this helps. If not - ask more ....

Peter,

I guess what I'm trying to do ( and I know this is possible ), is to replace the default button when I drag a vid onto the main window. I looked at the "help" file, but it didnt explain much to solve my lame question. I used the replace command but then I had
two buttons. *S*

I feel lame for not understanding what I feel should be a basic function, but then maybe I'm looking way to deep into the program and its much more simple than I'm making it out to be.

Thank you for your help, patience and kindness in mentoring me. Otherwise, its lonely in outer space. ....*S* I love DVD Architect tho and have already produced a nice DVD for a customer.

Thanks again,
Stevereno

you change the graphic/text/highlight. The look of the button is all background. The highlight is the actual button. But you must drag something on to the window for a button to be made (lame, i don't think there's an empty button option. At least I haven't found one since I bought V6+DVDA3).

Okay, what are you trying to replace it with?

I'm afraid you're probably right -- I think you're making it more difficult than it is. You drag a video onto a menu -- this adds the video to your project as well as creates a button (on that menu) pointing to that video. If you don't like something about that button -- whether it's the highlight color, the picture that's shown, the shape of the button, whatever -- you can edit it. How you do that depends on what you want to change. Most options will appear over on the Button Properties window when you select one of your created buttons.

Hope your question is now answered, Stevereno.

Basically, once video is dragged to a menu and a button is created, various properties can be changed, particularly under the Button Properties / Media tab.

If you want, for instance, to replace the thumbnail with a different picture, locate that picture in Explorer and drag the pic. file to the line under Button Properties / Media where it says "Thumbnail Properties". It will then replace the current thumbnail.

Insert > Empty Button.

I was always looking on the right click menu. :D they REALLY should put every option in the right click menu!

Thanks!
