I didn't see any clips in the Clips Explorer. I really appreciate if you could let me know where i am doing wrong...

Hi MM! Check to see you've set-up your Capture folder correctly - or if it's there at all. While in the Capture pane go OPTIONS>PREFERENCES>DISK MANAGMENT and check to see you've got a Capture folder set-up to Capture. I know this appears to be after what you think you should be doing, but I've had the experience of the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing - or has done - yeah?

Anyway, it's only a thought . .

Have you tried capturing with other software? That will confirm that everything's connected up OK

Grazie, what are you supposed to see when you get there? I have two 'paths' both with checkmarks, both with size and free space.
I am a newbie to this system but (as I pointed out in another post) this is the only way I can capture properly. I open 'Capture Video'from the 'Media Pool' then when the Capture section opens I click on 'Video'on the toolbar, open 'ATI Rage Theatre Capture Properties' and then click on 'ATI Rage Theatre Capture Capture Properties' underneath (yes two of them - Capture Capture) I have to do that every time I open Capture Video, in VideoFactory 2.0c. I also have to click on 'Audio'> 'Audio Capture Format' before the sound works, again every time I go there. Hope that may be another clue moviemaker?

A question to the mods. Is there no HTML or markup on this forum?

Okay - You've got 2 check marked capture folders? How do you think the Capture function knows where to send capture to? I'd have thought it would get confused - I would be! Got any ideas? In principle it appears you have it all set-up correctly - but 2 checked folders . . . hmmmmmm . . . .where's Chienworks when you need him?

He's out getting his head shaved. ;)

You can have as many checked folders in the list as you wish. VidCap will start filling them in the order listed, from the top down. When the first folder gets full it will roll over into the next folder. This is particularly useful if you're doing an enormous capture that won't fit on one drive; you can have it automatically roll over to additional drives.

Moviemaker, you mentioned using the ATI card for capturing, so i'm assuming this is an analog capture instead of a digital one. Under Options / Preferences make sure the "Enable DV device control" is NOT checked. If you have this checked for an analog device, VidCap will sit there spinning it's wheels waiting to talk to the device before it will try to operate it. With this unchecked VidCap will blindly accept whatever the device gives it without trying to control it. Device control (mostly) only works for DV devices.

And yes there is HTML markup for bold, italic, and underline. Check out /forums/ShowMessage.asp?ForumID=4&MessageID=158714 for instructions.

Chienworks - Hiyah! Mmmmhhh nice hair cut!

So that's what the check marks are for! And yes . . the DV device control for non-dv captures to be switched-off - I forgot about that one! DOAH!

So Moviemaker - any good?

Hi Guys,
Thanks a lot all of you. But still i am having a problem in capturing the video. Mine is Dv camcorder Sony TRV 27. When click the Capture Video it shows the preview not available, but the camcorder is playing. I am not sure whether it is captring or not. Previously I used Pinnacle Studio to capture video. As it is trail version so i removed all the files associated with to clean up the disk. So did I remove any useful files associated with. After i brought VideoFactory 2.0 I didn't check any other software. I am not sure where i am doing wrong. If you guys have any idea where i am doing wrong let me ....thanks in advance

Thanks

"After i brought VideoFactory 2.0 " Ah-ha! What version of VF do you have? I bought VF2.0 and was informed to get on the SoFO download site and get hold of VF 2.0c build 125. Have a look see! Anyway, first confirm to us the version you've got - yeah?

Try this link for the "fixes" in VF2.0c build 125:

Sorry I aint got THE solution. You'll get there. It's a great s/w package - don't loose heart yet - Keep the Faith!
