Newbie questions

Hi all - this is my first post here despite being a long time SF user.
I'm a producer mainly using Vegas 3/Soundforge 6 for audio multitracking and editing for projects. At work i get to play with all kinds of stuff (DP,Nuendo,Sadie, Protools etc ) but at home i use the SF stuff and it's been great. I just have a few questions that i couldn't find answers for in the FAQ/search old posts route.
1) How have people found the old Lexicon core 2 s/card w/vegas, especially with regard to
a)using all the inputs?
b)using the ADAT input?
c) latency?
d) the Mp-100 reverb upgarde board?
e)using the multiple ins/outs as inserts for outboard FX?

2) same as above for the digidesign Audiomedia card?

sorry , i know these cards are old hat, i just have the opportunity to get a couple of extra cards for a spare machine - and ADAt transfers straight into vegas would make me a very happy bunny.

In short, are there any glaring issues w/these two pieces of hardware, regarding SF software?
;-p

Thanks in advance,

Paul Fury 161

Dunno specific answers to any of your questions, but from what I've gathered you are extremely lucky if you have a Core2 that functions at all - almost to the point of 'class action suit'.

If it works with Windows and your mobo, I gather they should work fine with SF apps. The Core2 problems are mainly hardware compatibility, not driver functionality.

Thanks geoff - I had a feeling about the lexicon card to be honest. I was waiting to see if anybody had anything good to say about it. I'm still curios as to whther nybody gets on ok with the didi audiomedia 3 though -
and if anybody has a good recommendation for a multi in/out card for vegas with an ADAT in out?

Cheers

Thanks again,

The Echo Layla is great but probably costs more than what you want to allot for a "spare machine."

The ADAT capable cards from Frontier Design (they had several different ones) have been pretty reliable. I've been running their Dakota and Montana for almost 3 years with no problems.
