Newbie Rendering Advice needed

Hi,
I am new to Vegas (using 6.0c and switching over from Pinnacle Studio) and I have a question on steps needs to render for export to DVDA 3.0c. My goal to to create DVDs.

Will choosing the DVDA rendering template in Vegas render only video and thus require me to render again to get the audio stream, and thus create a 2 step process? In Studio, it was all done in one step. What is the equivalent workflow in Vegas 6.0c?

Thanks for the guidance...

You *can* do it in one step, but you're better off doing it in two. Either use Batch render tools, a scripting tool, or just deal with the dual render. Audio renders very, very fast to AC3.

You can either render for DVD in Vegas, or in DVD Architect. If you render for authoring in Architect, you lose control over quality to some extent, but gain some speed in the process. You can render in Vegas, giving up some speed, but gain more control and better vid.
Here is an article that might help you with batch rendering, and here is a tool that might help you do this as a one-stop, one button process.

Thanks DSE; batch rendering will do it for me. I appreciate the help.

AC3 rendering is so fast that i've never bothered with batch rendering. I'll start the audio render, then go refill my beverage, or a bathroom break, or a quick walk around the house, or play with the kitten ... and even with a 2 hour video, by the time i'm back to the keyboard it's done and i'll start the video render.

From what I've noticed with batch rendering is that it doesn't name the two files in a way that let's DVDA grab them in one step - but I'm new to this as well.

Just render your files as Mpeg2 and import into DVDA which will convert your audio to AC3 automatically. There may be additional controls, but i've never had any problems.
