NEWBIE: Tested DVDA - Question on chapter playback

I did a short test of making a DVD but stopped it midway thru - the DVD does play - the menus do work.

My question is - once I render multiple files or chapters and make a DVD - will it automatically play thru the chapters?

Right now my "test" DVD stops the clip (which are short due to my not finishing the burn) and it goes back to the menu.

Do i have to tell a DVD to play Chapter 1 through 10 if not instructed to - or will it do this on its own automatically?

DVDA will play each individual movie file to completion, assuming you haven't changed the in and out points. If you have chapter marks within a single movie file, the DVD will continue to play through them - they only are used as starting points, not stopping points.

If you have multiple files, it will play each one and then stop. If you have a single file with chapter markers in it, it will play the entire file.

The whole concept behind a DVD "chapter" is the same as a chapter in a book. Its a starting point. You click on chapter one, it plays the video all the way from beginning to end, assuming chapter one starts at the very beginning of the file/ If you click on chapter two it plays from chapter two to the end, and so on which each chapter starting at some time reference later in the file.
