Newbie trying Join already split parts

I am working on my first assignment in Vegas and I'm doing a multicam edit of a martial art performance.

I use Markers to see where I want to choose different Camera angles. When I have done all the marker and namned them after what Camera I want to use I started to press "S" at each marker so splitt the different cameratracks and then move each camerapart to a new "workingtrack" ... Now.. I someitmes realized I did'nt want to Split at that specific frame or something and I want to Unsplit the parts.. I don't rely on Undo command since I might have done other things in between but I can't find anythign in the manual either about this... ow do I Join to parts that were split? I must be blind or somethign or maybe peopel don't have the need for this?

Thanx/
Lars

Hiyah Inetzel!

You would appear to be a Prime Candidate for the Excalibur Wizard sets. It does multi cam work AND the re-join wizard. Does this in a snap. You can put up a ToolBar Icon within V4 to fire it uo too.

Having a demo of the same, here's the weblink.

For under $30.00 online NOW download - it's a no-brainer. Could save you much time, and keep the haior you've got!

Nice Demo by Gary,

The beauty of non-destructive editing is that it's non-destructive. Grab your unwanted split point by the neck (the edge) and pull it or push it to where it belongs. If you pull beyond the limits of the original event you will see a little triangular dent appear at the top of the track, and the event will begin to loop around that point. But if the original has got more, just go on and pull away.

The problem with that way, is what if you have an envelope on the parts you wanted to join?
I ran into this problem last night... I had accidentally split an audio event in two right in the middle of my project. So I had to lose all my envelope points when I "rejoined" it by deleting the right half, and extending the left half :-(

Does Excalibur solve that issue?

I just did a test on an audio clip with a volume envelope. I inserted multiple points and made several volume changes. I then split the clip so that several changes were on the left of the split and several were on the right. After running the Unsplit Wizard in Excalibur, I once again had ONE clip with ALL volume points intact. Manually deleting the right audio and resizing the left audio caused all points after the split to disappear. So, the answer appears to be YES. (I must admit that was one scenario I had NOT tested during development)

Now, if you have added EVENT level effects, they would be lost.
