Hi,
while I have been using Sony VMS for some years to create DVD's, this is my first attempt at a YouTube submission.
The project, on VMS Plat.10, consists of about 200 photos, for a total length of 14min 55seconds.
I found some instructions, posted from this forum, called "Exporting with Vegas for Vimeo", which also mentions YouTube.
I made the project settings changes listed there, de-interlacing=interpolate, Quality-Audio and Video=Best and Switches->disable resample.
When it came to rendering, I just used the VMS "Upload to YouTube" from the File menu - is this OK?, does it actually use the project settings I changed, or does it use a "canned" set of project settings.
It looks OK on YouTube, but some of the cross-fades appear like melted plastic, which I understand is lack of bitrate.
Also, I need to ship the final mp4 to a friend who I am doing this work for, who will upload the final copy to YouTube.
I notice that the filename created is "YouTube-hexchars.mp4".
Is there any significance in the hex characters, or can I just rename the file like BillsProject.mp4.
Thanks,
Bryan.
