NewBlue Titler Pro 7/Vegas Pro 23 Error Undo Buffer error

KDJack wrote on 12/12/2025, 12:59 PM

Greetings- Upon attempting to open the "Media Generator -> NewBlue Titler Pro 7" to add a title in the timeline in Vegas Pro 23 Build 302, I get an immediate pop up error message:

"An error occurred while processing the undo buffer. You should save your work immediately using a new project filename and restart Vegas Pro. The reason for the error could not be determined."

I contacted NewBlueFX support and they say the error is with Vegas Pro 23. I don't know who to believe at this point but I'm considering a refund from NewBlueFX because otherwise, VP23 and other plugins work without issue.

You can see the title bar of that error message says "VEGAS Pro 23". That error message was generated by VEGAS. I do not know why that error occurred but do know that I have seen it in VEGAS other times when Titler Pro was not used so it's not, necessarily, related to Titler Pro.

I get this error pretty frequently. It's not a New Blue issue as I don't use that. I use the built in Titles and Text.

I always assumed there's just a finite amount of undo memory allocated and once the undo buffer is full, it crashes. I have gotten used to saving my projects every one or two minutes because of this. I always figured that because I use lots of animated text events that change every few seconds that was the reason I get the error.

There's a way to manually clear the buffer and I remember there's another option in settings that has to do with not including fx changes in the undo history, but I haven't tried that. That might help with your issue.

I can sometimes forsee this error and save my work immediately because if I make a change to a text event and want to undo it, the first undo item that comes up in the list is not related to the change I made. If I select that first item, Vegas will immediately throw out that crash.

By the way, this is a very old issue, it's not new to Vegas 23. But at least it's not an immediate crash. It gives you the opportunity to save your project before crashing.

ok, I started a new project in VP23, and guess what is working... TP7. No issues, no error windows, no undo buffers (never had one), etc..

Mind you, this is with a fresh new project. With my worked on previous project, where I also used BorisFX, VP23 was quite not happy about things with TP7. I received the error crash window, it pointed to some proDAD plugins that were not being used and never caused issues before. We will see.

So, how about giving more details on your computer specs, project length and media used?

Can someone with MAGIX/VP confirm what exactly the setting is?
