NewBlue Video FX now in Trial Mode

I've searched high and low, and not found an answer.

I first started with the Vegas Pro 365 subscription program in 2020. One of the things I fell in love with was the NewBlue V6 Chroma Keyer Pro, and over the last almost 5 years I have come to rely on it quite heavily.

As of yesterday, it suddenly has a watermark, and wants me to purchase NewBlue effects that -- I had assumed -- came BUNDLED with the Vegas Pro subscription.

I am running Vegas Pro 22 build 194, this problem did NOT start as a result of any updates that I'm aware of.

Windows 10, i9-12900k, 32GB RAM/5TB NVME, RTX4060ti.

Just for reference, I can't find any mention of the NewBlue effects on the subscription page or anywhere ... nothing to indicate that I have a "license" to use it... it always "just worked". And yes, I uninstalled, deactivated my machine, and reinstalled/reactivated Vegas Pro 365; cleared the cache and settings; even went through and removed ALL of the NewBlue folders/registry entries and did a complete "clean" reinstall, all to no avail.

Everything else works perfectly fine; unfortunately the Vegas Chroma Keyer is ... in my opinion, total garbage... and that's the MAIN effect I rely on from NewBlue (possibly the only one I even use from them).

If anyone has a better Chroma Keyer idea in mind that's not going to cost (much)... I'd be willing to maybe try something new (not *all* of my videos are green-screen, but I do use it enough).

I do happen to have Premiere Pro installed (part of a bundle where I did need much of the OTHER products)... I really don't want to learn it (been using Vegas since ... since it was Sony and I was transferring MiniDV tapes to my AMD K6 machine!!!) but I did play with the "Ultra Key"... and... well it "just works". I just can't get used to the way Premiere works (yet)...

Sorry for the long rant, but I really would like to fix this and get a couple of videos out during my 2 weeks of holiday off time, which is going by WAY too fast...

Edit: didn't realize I could add an image:

NBFX is not included with VP22. Do you have any other editing software on your computer that could have possibly came with it? Vegas in the past has offered BorisFX Primatte Studio with the software, but just not sure which versions of Vegas it came with since I already have Continuum Complete, which includes Primatte Studio. It is an industry standard in chroma key. I do believe it was included with VP20 365, check your Magix billing receipt.

NBFX Chroma V6 is from around 2015. What software were you using back then?

@Justin-Nelson your best option is to contact NewBlue support (support at newblueinc.com)

This is a public form for VEGAS so any activation issues with NewBlue would best be handled through their support.

By "Chroma V6" do you mean Video Essentials 6? If yes, that is now a legacy product and is no longer supported. That doesn't necessary mean you can't get activated, though. VE6 did come bundled with Vegas Pro 13...

The current Chroma Key Pro can be found here: https://www.newbluefx.com/elements-ultimate/

@jetdv - "VE6 did come bundled with Vegas Pro 13..."

I have been using some version or other of Vegas since... around 2006, back when it was still Sony Vegas (and I was transferring video from MiniDV)! And I do specifically remember purchasing Vegas Pro 13 on some kind of deal, upgrading from a much older version (back before the subscription model).

It's possible that the NBFX "survived" through several upgrades... this would be around the time I installed Windows 10 when it first came out -- which itself has survived many hardware upgrades over the years, but is still an original install (with all updates of course). Not running 11 (on that machine) yet...

I think this clears up the confusion. I also do remember BorisFX being bundled some years ago, then that quit working after another upgrade. Like I said, I rarely use it, mostly when I want to do a "to camera" piece and my office is a total mess lol... and moreso lately, putting myself in a MidJourney-created "studio" or "garage" or whatever my ADD brain comes up with :) Also in 2020, boredom had me putting myself in places I couldn't go due to certain events keeping me home ;)

Thanks everyone for the input. Wasn't expecting to find good answers with the holidays etc, so I'm grateful for the assist. I'll close my ticket with MAGIX and maybe try out the Boris keyer before jumping ship to ... Adobe.... ugh...

Edit: I just randomly picked one of you guys to tag as the "solution"...
