I have purchased Pro 19 and want to finsh the project in this newer version - possible?

In general, that is possible. A proviso is that any 3rd party FX that are licensed-locked to Vegas Pro 17 will unlikely work in later Vegas Pro versions.

Another in general, its been said a few time on the forum over the years that its a good idea to finish an already underway project in the exisitng version especially if its close to completion. That said, I have many times continued an existing edit in a later Vegas Pro version without a an issue that comes to mind. And you do get the benefit of using new features in the project if advantageous.

But when opening the existing VP17 project in VP19, make sure that you save it with a new .veg name so that the original VP17 .veg project name stays intact and available if you need to go back to that project in VP17.
