Just finished a new music vid for a song called "Roc N Roll" for a rapper from Atlanta named J Roc. Not usually big on rap myself but gotta say I like the song. =)
Very well shot, and well done, not that I ever expect anything else from you :).
Not my style of music, but that one girl in the red was able to do some very interesting moves with just her butt. I don't think I've ever seen anything quite exactly like that.
Most excellent.
Like Dave, I can't much say anything for the content, but I will definitely say that your work was expertly shot, professionally and artistically lit, fantastically directed and slickly edited. I didn't see a single "bad" shot.
Top marks! You are an inspiration.
I wish I could see more people's work here (even more sharing). But the folk who consistantly blow me away are Muttley, GM Elliot and Stan Stonefield.
Yeah, their stuff is sexy, but it's also just amazingly high-end and creative.
Incredibly good from an artistic standpoint. Didn't lack anything in that respect.
Too dark and contrasty from a technical standpoint, especially with black performers. You couldn't even make out their features in many scenes. Flash darkens the video so I am sure it looked perfect when you first rendered it.
Thanks guys, always appreciate a kind word, and occasionally can even hang with a critique or two =)
The parts where its darker do look a lot better on a television than in here but were a bit of a challange, just couldnt bump it up much without getting noise and I'd rather it be a little dark than have noise any day.
Overall great look. You didn't win me over on rap, but I think I might start going to strip clubs again.
Did you have a smoke machine going? I wondered about the halo effect you got around the heads of the people in front of the stage...sort of a dark whispy glow. Nice.
So does the star take his silver teeth out after each shot?
Yea, the club we filmed at had a smoke machine which I used liberally as I was controlling it and the stage lights. That with the tubes that we placed around the lip of the stage (I think they were Kino) made the close ups look awesome.
I really didn't notice if he took out his teeth or not. =)
Nice work! That looked really slick... I'm not sure I agree with you about that being a good song, but I'm sure editing footage of strippers wasn't too taxing, eh?
I dig Rap/HipHop almost as much as I dig Strippers and it looks like you put the Artist in His element. He looked comfortable & confident. Whoever did the casting, had a very good eye for the female form.
The video had nice cuts & a good pace. It also had some good shots. I would have liked to have seen him in a couple of more environments/ a few more setups and some fancy HandHeld camera moves though... but this definitely does not take anything away from the Video.
planet9, there were supposed to be 3 more locations but for various reasons beyond my control couldn't get the client to the locations in time and than didn't have any money left in the budget to reschedule.
The full blown one looks better imho than the one on the site, obviously uncompressed is gonna look a lot sharper and cleaner than the flash version. But yeah, pretty happy with the web version.
MzzzzzzUTTLEY,
Great job! were you behind the cam or directing or both.
Colors didnt seem to dark here on my monitors.
Pace was good, to me just enough balance of shots of the artist and pole lizards...oops excuse me erotic dancers.
(of course wouldnt mind checkin out the B roll.....cough,cough)
BTW I think you have one of the best designed Web sites around, can I hire ya to help me w/ mine when I'm ready ?
