Next Button Behavior, DVD Architect 3.0 vs 5.2

The Next button isn't behaving as I want in DVD Architect 5.2.

The scenario, a theatrical performance with Act I and Act II, both with multiple chapter points, and each rendered as a separate file.

On the main menu, each has its own button, "Play from Start", and "Play from Act II".
The End Action for the "Play from Start" media is a link to "Play from Act II". When played straight thru Act II starts immediately after Act I completes. So far so good.

In DVD Architect 3.0 repeatedly pressing the Next button would take you from the last chapter point in Act I to the start of Act II and on thru the chapter points in Act II. Perfect!

In DVD Architect 5.2 pressing Next after the last chapter point in Act I gives you a "operation not allowed" indication rather than going to Act II.

This behavior is consistent in both DVD and Blu-Ray, and in preview and on my PS3 Blu-ray player. What changed between versions? Is there a work-around?

Thanks for any input. -Tom-

You are merely confirming what the industry actually is aware of.
Between the code written for DVDAPro3 and DVDAPro4 as an upgrade cycle there was a substantial codebase change in the Version4. SCS has been completely silent as to why, but this codebase change is established.

Now if you understand how app code is built, you will appreciate that the codebase for Versions 4 thru 6.0 has basically remained intact and was not changed to influence these behaviors. There certainly has been code changes for additional features so that actually Version 5.0B is the last with a major feature change. Version 6 has been promoted, but is full of bugs that were newly introduced and basically should be discarded.

The change of base with the behaviors introduced that you note, has been challenged by a number of members of this forum, including myself, but to no avail and SCS remains closed-mouth about it.
