I guess....I don't see much value in 100.00 for just 3 keys when for the same price, you can have a contour shuttle with 15 keys and a jog shuttle. this is very "apple" tho, so it's cute. But at $99.00....I'll take a pass.

Looks like something that should be sold through Sharper Image, and probably just as useful as most of their stuff. When I think of what most edit bays look like, I just can picture this piece of eye candy fitting in.

The full keyboard will be much more interesting. The thing I like is that it's fully programmable so one can write plugins for it. 100$ is indeed expensive for only 3 keys, I wonder how much will te full keyboard be...

they said it would be about as much as a *good* cell phone.

What's that on their web page "Personal Vegas", is THAT what they'll be releasing at NAB?

But seriously, the Shuttle gear is also programable, I just wish my grey cells would reprogram as easily.

When I say programmable I mean in a more deeper way :

You could program the first key to display the timecode in vegas, the second key to display the name of the selected track etc... No doubt the shuttle is nice but what makes this interface interesting is the ability to display graphics and video on the keys...

I am clearly reading "Release date: 14.07.2005" on this page. And the first picture I saw of this goes back perhaps two years already. So, is this a new keyboard, or are they just adding the three-key-pad?

Very confusing -- which year is he talking about here? (on the page Nat linked)

"The keyboard is in production. The first lot is set to arrive on May 15.
Retail price of Optimus mini three is $100 (subject to change after April 2).

The keyboard will be available for pre-order this week."

Then, on the "Answers" page I see:
"Full-size Optimus keyboard is being developed. We are looking forward to laying our hands on a sample before year-end"
and below a picture of the small keypad it reads "May 2006" and then "End of 2006" below the larger keyboard.
Well, that sounds like that page does more to raise "Questions" than answer anything, not that anyone had any in the first place, since its THEIR idea to bring yet another keyboard on the market.

And like I said, I thought this was already available a long time ago. Maybe they just want to stay in sync with the speed of their server.

Good, it wasn't something on my end. Why do people (businesses) try to build sites on such painfully slow servers, anyway? More times than not, if the site doesn't load within a reasonable amount of time, I'll simply move on to something else.

All I am looking for is a plain white or beige keyboard PS2. No gimmicks.
If it's white you don't need the built in lighted keys. I don't need all the fancy colors. Why? My KVM switch is PS2 and I use a footswitch to select the 3 different computers.

I just think what is cool is the fact that it uses OLED's meaning you can program/make your own unique icons under the keys.
I remember reading about what I believe is the keyboard from this company. It give you the abiilty to change the keys display depending on what program is running. ie Word using std QWERTY keys--Vegas alll keys display shortcuts even special icons you set for each key.
Sounds like a great Idea just wonder how much $$$$

The 3 key keyboard will be released before the full keyboard, probably as a test to see if it works well. It will be out in May of this year but you can preorder sooner (so they can judge how many people want it) The full keyboard will probably come out late 2006. Sounds clear to me.

Looks like a nice solution. I think programming them to the keys "Ctrl", "Alt", and "Del" will speed up my workflow nicely.

Can't wait.

That's known as the "Microsoft Rapid Task Switcher". It's supposed to be standard in Vista.
