Nikon Files to Vegas Pro 12

Having my first crack at getting files from a Nikon DSLR onto the the Vegas Pro 12 timeline.
Anyone familiar with the workflow.
I believe these a .mov files?
I have found these files problematic in the past.
Is that sorted now?

Nikon DSLR to V12 works just fine.

Pardon my total ignorance, but will I need a card reader to ingest.
I am more familiar with the P2 card work flow.
For that I use a card reader.
Can I connect straight from the DSLR or is there an intermediate step..

I just pop the SD card from the camera into a reader on my PC.

VO talent in the Asian Retreat ad was "Janet" from tvandradiovoices.com. I use them quite a bit and am always happy I did. One thing I like about them is they always send me the voiceover in lossless .flac format rather than mp3 like voicejockeys.com and voices.com do. If you do use them, tell Dustin I turned you on to their service.
