Try BOXX Technologies http://www.boxxtech.com/

They were featured in a SonicFoundry catalog a while ago. Apparently they build turnkey systems with SONY Media Software preinstalled and tested. I'm looking at the flash animation on that page now and there is a very clear shot of a system running Vegas.

DVLine also supports Vegas. See them here:

The way I see it, "turnkey system" really doesn't apply to Vegas.

Since Vegas is not hardware dependant, it will run fine on just about any PC, so my formula is : Decent PC with IEEE1394+ Vegas+Extra Hard drive = Vegas Turnkey System .

DVline and PC Nirvana have awesome systems, I've worked with both. PC Nirvana has the best tech support, but the gear on both DVLine and PCNirvana seems to be the same.

Perhaps, but there are many tweaks to DV systems that can make the system run faster, better, and more stable. This is part of what makes DVLine and PC Nirvana better than the average 'off the shelf' system. They both have slimmed down OS's and all tweaks applied to them for the user that doesn't want to fine-tune the system on their own. Further, these custom machines contain hardware known to be fully compatible in the same box. That's a huge plus in paying the slightly higher cost of purchasing a turnkey vs self building or buying something at Best Buy and trying to tweak it on your own, later wanting to add components that may or may not be compatible.

Thanks for all your help. I called DVLine 2 times about a system, they still have'nt called me back, it's been a week. They must not need the business???

I'm very satisfied with my 2-year-old pcnirvana computer (with 3 hard drives, 1G RAM, DVD burner, ADS tank, Vegas preinstalled, ShuttlePro and other stuff). I ordered a custom system, after consulting via e-mail with pcnirvana's president (Earl Foote), and it was delivered (across-country) only one week after I placed the order!

It was set up perfectly, the cost was very reasonable, and I really appreciated Earle's advice and 24X7 responsiveness.

5861,
That's odd. My experience with DVLine has been good. Calls and e-mail were answered promptly. E-mail seemed the best mode of communication. There systems seem to better priced than Nirvana but that is relative to what you need. Good luck.

Randy

Yeah DVonline is usually very responsive--but Earl Foote rocks! I built my first computer last week--and hell am I happy--I tweaked XP using David Labordes Tweak guide over at www.videoguys.com. As Spot said, its really important to set XP up to edit using any NLE software.
