Just about an PC will work. The faster the processor, plenty of ram and hard drive space, and the faster the bus will give you the fastest results. Beyond that, all you really need is a firewire connection. Many people have had problems with VIA chipsets but others have not. So, pretty well any PC you can buy today will work fine.
