Hmmm, maybe it's a culture thing (i'm a latecomer to the 'net) or maybe it's just what you're used to. I can't stand NNTP and find this web-based format to be far superior in all respects. I find newsgroups to be an archaic hangover from the old days before the web was polished and functional.
I just find OE so much quicker to browse posts. I guess I've been slanted by my experiences with the Macromedia web forums which are notorious for being slow and buggy. However their NNTP servers are instantaneous. It's all just what you get used to; like a Mac or PC
