No audio during capture

Hi all,

I have been successfully using the VMS Platinum V8 capture to convert old 8mm VHS camcorder tapes. I use the Canopus ADVC-55 capture card with the Firewire I/F.
Everything was fine until a few days ago when I started on a new tape/project and there was no sound during capture and afterward. I've tried everything and can't get it to work. The ADVC card works OK, as I used the WinDV program to capture with sound, but I prefer the VMS capture program.
Anybody have any suggestions what the cause may be? I did check all the settings and they seem allright. Also reloaded the VMS program, but sofar no joy.

In the VidCap program, take a peek at Options / Preferences / Capture / Capture Audio. Is that still checked? It's an easy one to change accidentally, and to overlook.

Thanks for your response. Yes, the "Capture Audio" box is checked.
Any other suggestions?
