No Audio in VCD's

I've been trying to create a VCD for the last couple of days. However, each time I burn a new VCD, the audio is missing. (if in fact I get a successful burn!)

I've not tested on a computer so I can't say whether or not it works for playback via a computer, but I have a sneaking suspicion that the audio is gone as well. I heard the same thing happens when you burn VCD's in Easy CD Creator 4 as well and I know there's a workaround.

Any ideas? I'm tired of making coasters :)

I've never used Easy CD Creator 4, but I have successfully used Easy CD Creator 5 and Nero 5 and Nero 5.5. I've heard all kinds of stories about version 4 of ECD causing problems.

You really need to test if the CD you made plays off your PC. A successfully burned VCD should play equally well off your PC and many set-top DVD's. I would try burning to a CD-RW disk as opposed to a CD-R just to see if your DVD player can handle that. Some DVD players will play CD-RW media fine and stumple with CD-R media.

Again, like I said before in earlier threads the difference in reflectivity of the different media can be an issue. Some DVD set-top players can handle different coatings better than others.

Most DVD players that have dual lasers have fewer problems. One solution may be as simple as switching media brands. Not an endorsement, but I've seen people in other forums and on web sites recommend Verbatim Data Life Plus. That brand and others have a duller bluish green coating.

I had no luck making a DVD from VF, but my CD-Rom for the computer works flawlessly. Sounds great and plays on Windows media player.
