No audio on AVC file for blu ray disc

John-Davison wrote on 5/31/2024, 9:09 PM

Currently using Vegas Pro 14.0 and DVD architect that came with it to make movies of my own. I use my Canon HD for capturing videos from Air Show's watching loud and fast jets fly close by. When rendering my edited video as an AVC file type by selecting "Blu-ray 1920x1080-60i, 16 Mbps video stream", the quality of the video looks great! But the problem is. . .. . . No Audio! Bummer! Wondering if there's a solution for this.

Thanks.

With DVD Architect, you need to do two renders: one for the video and the second being for the audio only (e.g. in the .WAV format or any other audio format compatible with DVDA).

After importing the video into DVDA, go to the timeline where the video appears then import the separately rendered audio media and place it on the empty audio track - et voila.

@Dexcon, I always just render to MPE2 with Audio which is then given to DVD Architect. Of course DVD Architect still re-renders the audio into what it wants. But in the MPEG2 renderer, you *DO* have to turn the audio back on because it's checked off by default.

@John-Davison Alternatively use Sony AVC/MVC AVCHD 1920x1080-60i 16,000,000 bps template. This will have video and audio but the ac3 audio will only be stereo two channel.

@jetdv  ... thanks for the tip - that's good to know. Because I use 5.1 AC3 for DVDA 6.0,, I continue to copy/paste the final audio timeline from VP17+ into VP16 where the AC3 Pro "workaround" can still successfully be used. BTW, the workaround requires having Vegas Pro 13 and DVDA 6.0 from that era.

@Dexcon I do the same with VP12. DVDA prefers a separate audio stream. If you use an MPEG or other with the audio DVDA has to Demux and the Mux the audio. This just leaves more room for an error (crash, memory issue, etc).

@John-Davison

I still utilize one of the best "Tutorials" sites for VEGAS Pro, Movie Studio Platinum, DVD Architect, which are still relevant. Derek Moran's (Dr. Zen) site: Movie Studio Zen.

Here is a link for DVD Architect. Take your time and watch. His forum has some awesome insights as well. Just click on the "Here" above. it will take you to Dr. Zen's DVD Architect tutorials.
