No audio on imported video

I have some videos that I recorded with my Aiptek HD digital camcorder on my computer, and I wanted to edit them on Sony Vegas. But whenever I import them onto sony vegas there is no sound. Although there is audio track, but it's just white with three lines through it and it doesn't have any audio. I know for a fact that the videos I have were recorded with sound because when I play them back on windows media player they play perfectly. Help!

Aiptek is one of those brands that hardly anybody knows anything about.
You'll have to at least get out the manual and tell us what format it records to. Hopefully they'll mention how the audio is done too. Then somebody can help you.

The only Aipteks I've seen, almost look like toys. I'm having trouble picturing an Aiptek HD camcorder. I think I still have a web-cam/camera made by them.

If nobody answers you after you give the format information, try asking in the Vegas Video part of the forum. This audio section doesn't get too much traffic.

I am having the same trouble with some audio that was captured along with the video in Premier Pro (thought I would do the capturing in a program that I was more familiar with). I did a rough edit and then saved as EDL. I opened the EDL in Vegas Pro8 and the audio waveform was missing in some of the clips. Again, I used Premiere Pro to capture from a Panasonic 3CCD mini-camcorder. Saved as AVI's to hard drive. Glad to hear I am not the only one. I also got the same 3 lines through the audio track. It is like the place on the timeline is being saved for the audio in certain clips, or the audio for the clips is not connecting with the source files. All of the AVIs show up in the media bin, though. I bet my post didn't help one bit.
