Audio must be rendered as a seperate file. Select the AC3 template from the render dialog and create your .ac3 file - if both the mpeg and ac3 files have the same name and live in the same directory, DVDA will automatically pull in the AC3 when you add the MPEG.

Seems to work. I rendered my video as an AC3. So now I have .mpg and .ac3 files. In DVDA I go to Page Properties, Background video (navigate and select my .mpg file) then down to Background audi0 (navigate and select my .ac3 file). Now I preview and it seems to work. Next step, Make DVD.

Sound right?

I see your problem - your movie is not the background video - which is always without synced sound. You can add background video but it will not be synced.
