No audio on VCD

I created a mpeg file with Pinnacle Studio PCTV and imported this into Video Factory to create a VCD. I tried to play it on my Pc a "dat" file and it worked, but when I tried it in my Apex 3100 DVD player I got Video but no audio. Did I miss a step when I created the VCD!

The creating of the mpeg file was outside of our control so it apparently is somehow not valid. If you render the project start to finish in VideoFactory 2, all will be cool and the VCD will work on an APEX (we test quite a bit with Apex).
