No audio with ATI AIW

First I would like to thank everyone responeded to my first post.

Ok After much tweeking, still no audio, I can capture
video & audio fine using the ATI supplied software. But no luck using the VF2.0 capture software. I tried to import the ATI captured file, but It complained about missing codec.

Anyway if I can't get the VF2.0 capture software to work. I figured I'd maybe try some other software I can grab off the net to do the job. I've seen something called virtual Dub that looked promising. Has anyone had any luck with using something other then the VF2.0 capture software.

Just a suggestion; use the ATI supplied software. It does a better job of capturing with the ATI card. There's really no advantage to using the Sonic capture.

Capturing to AVI is best if you want to edit the files in VF.

Make sure to have the latest version of DirectX 8.1 from http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com, and the latest video drivers and MMC software for your ATI card from ATI's web site.

I've never been able to completely resolve the audio sync problem with the ATI card but maybe you'll have better luck if you have a faster machine.

Good luck.

I have a 1.4 athalon 256 FSB. so its pretty peppy.
I didn't see any probem with the audio video syncing when I used the ATI software, it just wouldn't let me import it int VF. I guess I need to play around abit more.

Nice... Should be fast enough. I have a PIII-800/128M and a dedicated 60G drive for capture. My audio lags by 1 second after a 10 minute capture of an AVI file at 640x480. At that resolution, an uncompressed AVI takes (gulp) about 1 gig per minute.

I also have an AIW---the capture software ATI provides does a nice job with avi at 640 x 480. I simply import the files I captured with the AIW into VF--so far, so good.
