Are you trying to capture stills? If your capturing video you need firewire.
Also there is a movie studio forum, this is vegas video.

You'll need to use the capture software that came with the camera, or use Windows MovieMaker to capture the video, and then edit in Sony Vegas.
USB2 simply isn't an optimal capture solution.

Why is that, USB2 is potentially faster than Firewire, is it just more delayed? or something.

For one thing, USB2 has significantly higher CPU overhead than Firewire.

USB2 = 480Kbps, Firewire = 400Kbps, DV = 30Kbps.

Who cares if USB is faster? Firewire could still move 13 DV streams simultaneously.

For that matter, early on Firewire becamse the medium of choice for DV transfers because it is less processor intensive and less prone to difficulty. Now it's just simply the way it's done and there really isn't any worthwhile excuse to avoid firewire.

Am I correct in thinking that this is a Record-to-DVD Camera?

If so, why do you need to capture? Surely you can just copy from the DVD on your PC.
