No DVD Bundle with Vegas5

Though I'm only an amateur editor, Sony offered such a sweet price on the upgrade to Vegas5+DVD that I decided I couldn't afford not to stay up to date on this video editing product I've grown to love over the last several years.

I was hoping to bundle a nice Sony DVD burner with the upgrade purchase but couldn't find it anywhere on the upgrade purchase website. Does Sony offer a software/hardware bundle? If so, can I still take advantage of it after I ordered the Vegas5 upgrade? If not, Sony seems to be missing a great marketing opportunity?

So which DVD writer can I expect flawless integration from while creating DVDs with Vegas5? I'm more interested in steady, stable performance than speed. Suggestions?

The division that makes DVD burners and Vegas are totally different. Don't be surprised if you find Sony offering a DVD burner bundled with a competitors NLE!
Some of their laptops come bundled with Premiere.

Go with a Pioneer A07
Unless you want to wait a month for the new DL burners to come out.

There is a Sony Vegas +burner bundle, but I don't think it's an upgrade bundle.

It is a whole production studio bundle. It includes the new Sony Pictures Sound Effects collection too. It's a catalog/webstore special available only in the US
It's $1200 which is suppossedly 30% off.
Vegas 5+DVD
DRX-530UL DVD burner
and vol 1-5 of the Sony Sound Effects Series

You may want to Call Sony and see if they offer an upgrade price. If you need sound effects, it's a nice deal.

I don't know if it is me and my set up or the drive but I haven't been overly happy at all with my Sony DRU-530A. I get power calibration errors with it.....it will work fine for a day or so then errors. I haven't been able to chase anything down yet. Others have had problems with certain media. (Part of my problem may have been a bad TDK DVD+RW) Sony support for the drive has been non-existent. Your luck may be good........

On the up side, when it does work it is quick and I haven't burned a coaster yet. All disk (TDK and Memorex) that I have burned have worked fine in several different computers and on my set top player.

Boy, I was a lot of help..............
