No import AVCHD option

Anybody have an idea as to why they removed the Import AVCHD option from the File menu? It was there in Vegas 8 and now gone in 9. No biggie I can copy the data directly via USB but it was easy to connect it and have Vegas copy it.

Because Vegas Pro 9.0 has a better way of doing it:

Try View | Device Explorer ;-)

I don't know the answer, but I can comment that SCS seems to have dropped a lot of balls, some on purpose, with AVCHD in this release.

My gripe is they did not enable 720P60 AVCHD support yet.

Doh! didn't see the new Device Browser.... that is a cool little tool - what would be better is that with the next update they fix the Cineform codec problem and allow to import/recode the videos from the cam directly to an intermediate format!
