No masking in VMS?

According to the other posts, VMS (Platinum Edition) doesn't have the masking capabilities. If this is true, this is complete bullshit. I know I can use cookie cutter and whatnot to get masks, but there is no way I'm going to mask a human with rectangles (which can't change ratios) and circles. Oh, sorry, I forgot diamonds too. Is there any way to get simple masks without paying out the ass for the full version? I can only assume not.

Another question... since when is Studio not the full version? I was quite deceived by the packaging, because it appeared to me that this was the highest I could go...

Oh and I also love how masking is not one of the checkboxes for comparing features on the box.

VMS doesn't have all the effects, transitions etc. that come with Vegas Pro. On this forum Vegas Pro is often refered to with 'Vegas Full'.
Another plugin I miss is the Second Colour Corrector, which allows black and white video except for one colour.

Take a look here to compare the two products. I had no trouble finding it. Have you compared the prices and the capabilities of the various other programs? Perhaps hiring a professional may be the more economical solution for you. Good luck with it.

I probably shouldn't reply, but...

"Is there any way to get simple masks without paying out the a$$ for the full version?"

That's what you get with Studio & Platinum Vegas, simple masks.

You get what you pay for. What you probably need is Bezier Mask, which is in the Full version.

I got Vegas 6 Full at B&H for $99, hearing about it here on this forum. The deal of the year, bro.
