My video preview screen shows only a red screen and the videoscope does not show a waveform when GPU acceleration of video processing is enabled. Problem goes away when the setting is disabled. My video card is an Nvidia GTX 1070 with 8mB of ram.

No problem with me on the GTX 950M with that driver in VPro16 build 361 on Windows 10 latest update when I use a lot of GPU accelerated effects and the videoacceleration with that GPU is switched on.
Are you using the same program and OS on your hardware?

Check that you have the latest .Net version installed.
Installing the newest .Net version did not make a difference but I may have solved the problem anyway. I tried running Vegas as an administrator and video preview now seems to work. No idea why that should make a difference.
