I assume that you are trying to print to tape from the vidcap screen - and your "record to device" icon is not showing. What might cause this is if you have resized other elements in that window (like the box on the right where the filies you import show up) and have, thus, obscured the icon for recording to device.

Double check the size of that files box - move your pointer over the left side of that box and it will turn into a two-headed arrow (pointing left and right). Hold down the left mouse button and drag to the right to reduce the size of that box. I'm guessing your 'record to device" button will show up.

Look at the tape in your camcorder and make sure the write-protect tab is not enabled.

Edward, Caruso and John . . . From within VidCap, I have a Record "ICON" that is greyed out. I'm told that there is NO device . .. However, if I wish to go Capture, then the device appears. I have files within the PTT waiting to be sent to the Camera, but still no joy. For a looooong time I have now been PTT-ing from the timeline instead. I really don't understand WHAT I'm doing wrong OR what connection is not being made via VidCap to allow PTT.

To summarise:

#1 I can PTT from the Timeline - I get to choose the PAL bars and black leaders etc etc

#2 I can Capture from within VidCap - and use Advance capture too.

#3 I can not PTT from within VidCap - The Record to device is greyed out. When I choose to reconnnect device, it momentarily appears then vainshes from the RADAR again!

So:

A: VidCap sees and recognises my camera from within Capture but NOT from PTT

B: Go Timeline, and PTT recognises and controls my camera.

Ok, Guys, figure that one out?
