Good to hear first hand evidence of that.

I will mention again for the benefit of anyone new who comes here looking for info on rootkits that Sony Media Software and Sony BMG Music Entertainment are two completely separate divisions of the Sony behemoth. One is based in Madison Wisconsin and one NYC. One boss dated Maria Carey and the other boss, well, he makes good software.

Welcome bbq! Good to see you jumped off the eternal upgrade train of that "other" software!

I think you'll find it nice over here as there are more discussions on effects, technical tips and stuff NOT related to work-arounds, out of sync sound, crashes, next buggy patch, etc, etc., ..

I haven't been using Vegas for long but long enough to know I will never go back to that other one!

There are some true gurus and a lot of helpful and talented people here. I'm pretty sure you will enjoy using Vegas.

Somebody remind me, when does Sony send out the testimonial $$$? ;)

intel i-4790k / Asus Z97 Pro / 32GB Crucial RAM / Nvidia GTX 560Ti / 500GB Samsung SSD / 256 GB Samsung SSD / 2-WDC 4TB Black HDD's / 2-WDC 1TB HDD's / 2-HP 23" Monitors / Various MIDI gear, controllers and audio interfaces

BBQ Wiz, I noticed in your posting on the "other" forum that you've just received your Vegas + DVD. If you loaded from the CDs provided in the package, you may want to check the versions supplied. Sony has released a couple of updates to both Vegas 6 and DVDA-3 to address some early problems and also to add functionality. (the most recent update for DVDA-3 allows you to import VOB files, for example)

Note that Sony's update files are full versions, not hopelessly cobbled-together patches like Brand P throws out there. You can find the most recent versions on the Downloads page, accessible from the menu bar at the top of this window. (Also, see the notice in the #1 sticky post at the top of the forum list...)

Good luck, have fun and welcome to the forum.
