No sound!

I have Vegas 7.0 I am able to import an audio clip. When I use the sound preview button, I can see the sound track playing in the output meter but there is no sound. When I play the audio track, there is no sound. I have checked all mute buttons that I know of and they are not active. Can you help me figure out why I can see there is a sound track there but am unable to hear it playing.

Thanks -- Wayne

Do you get sound from other programs?

I'm also not sure exactly what you mean by the "sound preview button". Which button specifically are you talking about?

Yes, I get sound from other programs (Quicktime, Windows Movie Studio, Windows Media Player, iTunes etc.)

Sound Preview Button is the Play button at the top of the Project Media window. When this button is pushed, the sound graphics in the Output Meter can be seen playing--no sound however.

Thanks for your effort to help me on this!!

Please fill our your system specs in your user profile.

Please answer the following questions:

What audio hardware are you using?
What audio driver model (Mapper, Wave Classic, ASIO) are you using?
How is your master bus routed to your hardware?

I appreciate your feedback and help. I found out what the problem was. Within the computer's own sound manager, the Vegas program was muted. I do not know how this happened. However, I have sound. Thanks for your efforts.

Glad you solved it.

Sounds like you are using Vegas on Vista. Are you?

Could you still fill out your system specs in your user profile for future reference?
