No sound after rendering to .avc to Architect 5

Trying to produce video for Neices wedding

Tried 3 times now to 'Make Movie' (bluray and DVD) from Vegas Home Studio 11 to disk, then to publish from Architect 5 .....

Pal, HD 1080-50i (1920x1080, 25.000 fps), 'best' video and audio.

Tried 3 different chapters of the video - and there is no sound when using the .avc files in Architect.

I'm sure i'm missing something - but can't see what it is .......

What kind of camcorder did your original source video come from?

Which project properties did you set up in your Vegas project? Did you ensure that your audio settings matched your source video's audio (in particular, did you set your project up for 5.1 audio, for instance, if your camcorder produces 5.1 audio)?

You say you used Make Move to make a disk, then you published it to DVD Architect.

Do you mean that you used the Make Movie wizard to port your finished files to DVD Architect? It's important that you be specific.

Hi - I used 2 cams (HDR-HC3E - which just says it records in 16b in HDV mode; HDR-TG7 - Just says Dolby Digital 2 Ch....... both set at highest quality)
Audio in vegas 11 is set at Stereo, Sample Rate - 48000, 16b, Best quality.

I Make Movie to hard drive, then brought into architect.

I have also tried rending as AVCHD 1980x1080 50i which produced a .m2ts video ...... again no sound.

This is correct. You export sound in AC3, separately. DVDA5 will add the sound back.

"...I'm sure i'm missing something - but can't see what it is..."

The same thing happened to me. Then, I found out that I didn't check the box for "Include Audio Stream". Once I did that, the audio was added.

So, Renders As -> Save as type: (your choice) -> Template: (DVD Architect or Blu-ray) -> Custom: Select the "Audio Tab" at the bottom -> Check the box for "Include audio stream" -> Click OK.

That should do it.

Thanks - have rendered the sound seperately - but how do I add it into the project in Architect - I can find any reference in the tutorials or help file for adding sound tracks!

Hi - I had the 'include audio stream' box checked.

In relation to adding the AC3 file .....

In the Button Properties Menu there is only the facility to direct to either the Video or audio file - not both ..... at least not that I can see!

Sorry for being a bit thick :-)

If you give the video file and the audio .ac3 file exactly the same name, except for the extension of course, then DVD Architect will automatically find the other one of the pair when you add either to the menu.

If you didn't name them the same and you now have the video imported, double-click on the video event to open it up in the little timeline in the lower right corner, then drag the .ac3 file over to where the audio should appear. This will join that audio file to the video.

Thanks - I'm just re-rendering the video again and its the same name as the audio file. An hour to go to try it out :-)

I'm just amazed there is no mention of this in Architects Help files or Tutorials.
