No sound in timeline

When i listen to a sound clip in teh trimer it sounds all fine, but when i drag it to the timeline it's silent no matter wheather i try Solo or not.

Do you have Volume Envelopes enabled? If so, have you inadvertently dropped the volume envelope to zero? (I forget about this all the time!)

First, start with a new empty project. Load an audio file on the timeline. Can you hear anything during playback?
