NO SOUND ON DVD PRINTS

KeyplayerG wrote on 2/12/2019, 12:37 AM

I've got a 4 minute Presentation that included stills and video. I've replaced the video soundtrack with overlapping music beds. They play fine IN VEGAS. But the rendered files are giving me video only on the DVD's. The settings are exactly the same as the other DVD's I've been burning for the last 8 weeks. The ONLY DIFFERENCE in this project is the replaced music beds from audio tracks I inserted, as opposed to the ones that automatically come with the video imports.

How do I get the sound to stay with the video on the DVD. This project is due later TODAY!!

Make sure "include audio" is checked in the encode settings, or if not, render out a separate wav file and join them together in dvd architect.

Where are the Encode Settings? Is there some place else that needs to be checked?

Under "Render As", select Customize Template. There, you will find some tabs at the bottom of the dialogue box. Select Audio and make sure that Include Audio is checked. If it is not checked, the render will not have any audio.

Okay, I burned a DVD directly from V-16 Pro. The good news is the sound is there. The bad news is there's no menu page of any kind. All I need is the simple "Play" & "Scenes" buttons!

All of the other DVD's I've burned since moving to V-16 have been done on Wonder Share BECAUSE I didn't need anything fancy. They were training discs with Sharpie scribbled labels. You got the 2 buttons on the Top Menu Page. This one falls in the same category. Nobody but the tech is going to see it at the presentation (Another Sharpie label). But now, for some inexplicable reason, it won't burn a disc WITH sound. And I do mean inexplicable. I can see the sound layer info right in the clip information! I cannot figure out what has changed.

Yes, I did that. You can see it checked in the screen shot above.

I think that you added those screen shots about 1 minute after I posted - they certainly weren't there when I responded.

Not sure about the later versions of Vegas, but AFAIK, VP by itself, can only render the DVD or BU files and burn a 'single movie' disc which does not have a menu. Menus, chapters and such, must be applied in DVD Architect or other disc authoring software.
