I am trying to import a .mpg file into Screenblast for editing (the original file comes from a ImageMix, the software bundled with the Sony Handycam DVD recorder). There is no sound when I move the file into the timeline for editing. Any ideas??
I had a similar problem when trying to get VOBs or MPGs from a DVD. The issue there was that, even though you can play the VOB or MPG with sound, when you try to edit it, the sound wouldn't load. And I believe the way to fix that was to do something called "demux" the audio, but I never got a real clear understanding of it.
Don't import it as a .mpeg, bring it in as .avi this will fix the problem.
You should be able to set this when you download it from your camera.
.mpeg is compressed and not the best format to edit in.
