No sound when importing video

I'm using Vegas Movie Studio 9.0. I imported a video off of a burned DVD. The original footage was filmed AGES ago on VHS and now has been burned onto DVD. The DVD plays with sound on my computer, but the sound does not play in the Vegas software. It imports with a video track only (no seperate audio track) but I don't remember if other imported videos had a seperate audio track either... My computer is using Windows 7.

Grrr... what am I missing?

How did you do the import? File / Import / Camcorder DVD disc should get both the audio and video. If all you did was drag the .vob files in and the audio is AC3 then Vegas may not automatically detect it. If the latter, try renaming the files to .mpg instead of .vob.

Yeah, I did use "import dvd camcorder disc" (Just did it again to verify though). It converted it to mpg but there's no sound. To test it, I just brought in a .wmv and an .avi (2 video clips I already had on my computer) and they both played with sound.

I have had the same problem with no solution.
