No strobe effect, ay?

Can anyone offer insight on how to create a strobe effect? I'd like to take a video event and cut to a black event, or another video event, every two or three frames. I've been doing it manually, but there must be a simpler way, perhaps with a 3rd party plug-in.

Or, Is this where I need to learn about scripts?

Thanks in advance.
Jeff

Nah, that's not quite what I was looking for. But, that is a good idea and I that will help on a another segment I'm working on. Thanks.

How about a solid black frame on a track above the video track you want to flash... set up a few flashes, copy, paste, reselect, copy (double this time), paste, reselect, copy (4x this time), paste... etc.. ??

Oh, good idea. Then I can probably save that as a preset or export as a clip on an alpha channel, for use in future projects.

Thanks.

What about the "Blink" script here
jkrepner wrote on 2/16/2005, 1:31 PM
jetdv, I see the script and I saved it to my dcripts folder, but they don't seem to work. This is my first time using scripts and the online help file only tells me to save scripts to the vegas script folder.

Do have net framework installed on your machine?

Yeah, the other scripts (like "add time code to all media") work. Am I correct in assuming that all I have to do is save the script to the script folder, rescan script folder, and then run? When I do, I get this message:
"An error occured during the execution of the script C:\program files..............."

You may have to change any lines that have "SonicFoundry" in them so they read "Sony" instead.
