"Is this the way it should be?" . .

. .well it is the way it is. And yes, no Syncing with Text to Timeline NOR Generated media.

My way around this is to put the TEXT event on a LOOPING roll and change the parameters. At least then I can SEE/HEAR what it could look like.

Others have devised ingenious methods around this.

"Is this the way it should be?" . . the answer is NO! But it is what we have and no, your Vegas install, on this matter, is working correctly.

Why Not ??? I hate being teased by that damned little icon grayed out!
If I can't have it , don't show it to me ! Jeez...

I'll try your workaround. I thought I used to be able to watch text fade in/out ,etc. in the past ,so maybe I accidentally did what you suggest with the looping.

This time I was wanting to have the text expand till just about off the screen with a zoom effect using the keyframes and I just got bogged down not seeing it previewed in real time with the sync-d cursor....

Note to Sony: please do this for V7

Thanks much,

The problem is because its generated media, hteres actualy a good explination for it by Spot somewhere on the forum. Something about it affecting all generated media. (if I try and explain, I'll Just butcher it up)
But also I remember seeing something by Jaohnny Roy on how to over come this.
I gotta look for it, it might have been on his website.
