no tape found with Sony DVMC-DA2

I just got my Sony DVMC-DA2 today and it looks really good!

I've got a problem though. I launch VideoCapture 2.5, and i see the
picture on the screen for a second or two, then the picture disappears
and i see this message: "Please insert a tape". I'm not trying to use
the LANC, so i can't see why it should be asking for a tape.

I also tried VideoCature 2.0, and then the picture stays on the screen,
but the Capture Video button never becomes active.

Any ideas anyone?

I found it. In VideoCapture, under preferences, i removed the check
mark next to "Enable DV Device Control".

Now everything is happy, i just caputred some VHS video through the
Sony DVMC-DA2 and it's fantastic! No dropped frames, the picture is
rock steady and clear, and the sound is fantastic too.

Definately a good device!

I use one too. A wonderful tool if you DV cam doesn't have a video in port. Cheaper than buying a second DV camera.
