No themes available (or buttons or backgrounds)

Have a working installation of SMVS8 PE and DVDAS 4.5 (build 56), but the only problem is that when I switch to the Themes, Buttons or Backgrounds tab in DVDAS, the tab simply shows this message:

No themes available
No buttons available
No backgrounds available

If I look in the install directory, I see the themes present (44 objects for a total of 19.5MB):

D:\Program Files\Sony\DVD Architect Studio 4.5\themes

Is the fact that the app is installed on the D: drive a problem?

How do I resolve this problem? I've opened a customer support case but that might take a few days. Thanks.

I'm using Sony Vegas 6 and DVDA 3.0 and am no expert but will toss out an idea or two.

Have you tried uninstalling the software and reinstalling? Do you have enough space on your C drive to try installing it there just to see if it makes any difference in loading the themes, buttons, & backgrounds?

In recent months, I purchased a new MP3 player and no matter what I did, I could not load video onto that thing. I was about ready to return it to the store out of frustration and decided to try installing the software on my laptop. I noticed it installed differently - a pop up window appeared that did not show on my desktop. Once it finished installation, it worked perfectly.

My next step was to uninstall that software from my desktop and reinstall it. It fixed the problem.

As I said, I'm no expert but don't think it would hurt to try an uninstall and reinstall the software to see what happens.

Send an update here and let us know what happens and/or what customer support says.

I'm going to assume that DVDA is similar to the way Cinescore wirks with themes, in that simply copying them over is not enough - they need to be registered somewhere (I mean, as in a registry or file location that the app looks at).
An re-install would certainly be worth a first shot

When that happens to me, I close DVDA, and then re-open it.

Might be worth a shot....

Thanks for the suggestions. The install seems OK. If I start a new project (or simply close the project I'm seeing the problem in), themes, buttons & backgrounds are magically available again.

Seems to me that this one project (recently created in this same build) has somehow managed to confuse DVDAS.

Just once (not repeatable) today I saw this failure when I started up DVDAS which was loading up that same project. DVDAS then then exited:

I'm about to patch up to 4.5c. Let's see if that helps.
